Difference between diffuser and reflector?

What are the main differences between a flash diffuser and a reflector?

A diffuser will flash on the flash head and diffuses the light so you get softer shadows and light. A reflector for an accessory flash is a flash diffuser or other device farewell that reflects the flash light in the desired direction. A reflector is a device used to reflect light either available light or artificial light to illuminate a subject for their characteristics. Very useful for outdoor fill light. A diffuser can also be used to diffuse the light from the sun. And you can buy an all in one kit. The diffuser is a translucent piece folding frame and comes with several covers of different colors to turn the speaker in a reflector.

New Flash matching color photography technique to save time and please customers

How would you like to reduce substantially the post processing time in the area of color correction? The softer light, of course, is achieved by bouncing it off a much larger object, as a ceiling or wall. The most natural direction for light from above, bounced off the ceiling. It is also more convenient surface to bounce off the light. However, when faced with a roof that is not white, like orange or blue, the use of the roof may seem out of place. This article will give an overview different from the situation.

The secret is this: The real problem is not really the color of the roof. The real problem is the mix color that was created as a result of bouncing light off a ceiling color, using a diffuser that indeed contributes another color.

Let me explain. In general, the color of the roof (white) corresponds to the color of the diffuser (white). Under this ideal condition, the two paths of light striking the subject are similar in terms color temperature, which is vital to produce an image that is the same color and easy to fit to perfection. You do not want the subject's face or dress of the bride wedding is duo-tone, right? This is what happens when light bounces off the roof of color mixed with white diffuser providing forward fill light. So how can solve this problem? Think in terms of the expression, "If you can not beat them, join them."

That's right. Virtually can not change the color of the roof, to change the color of the speaker! Once this color scheme is run, you can set the camera white balance your in this light, or simply leave the white balance setting the camera to auto, then set the white balance in your favorite software image processing. I I recommend shooting in RAW and with the eyedropper "tool" to adjust the white balance with a few mouse clicks.

A little planning leg work and asked to color match the diffuser in the ceiling. This extra effort is very useful, as the post processing time for balancing the color is dramatically reduced. Your customers will be very happy with their quality work and quick delivery time, too!

Here is how the color matches the ceiling:

• Print the image (which can be trimmed to the limit) on plain paper (matte, dull) or thick cardboard.
• Create a custom attachment, by reducing the printed image of the ceiling on the size.

You can also add a gel to complement the mood lighting, although the gel is completely optional and has nothing to do with same color as the ceiling.

Now is ready to shoot.

Do not be alarmed when chimpanzee through the images on the LCD 3 "and are all blue. That's exactly what you want to see. The ceiling diffuser blue and blue produce a bluish light that is easily corrected in post processing (recommended shooting in RAW). Of course, if you had white balance the camera in this light blue in advance, then the images would be perfect in its 3 "LCD untreated later. Either way, the final results will be excellent.
