i ordered a pentax k-x today.. i have a question about lens compatability?

hi there,

i am wondering if i can use other brand of lens such as nikon, takumar or canon with pentax? how would i know if a lens is compatible with my SLR?

50mm lens? and what other lens is

good for indoor photography??

lenses from other camera manufacturers are not compatible. This rules out nikon, canon, etc. Takumar is a Pentax brand. Takumar lenses should fit your k-x. Any lens from an independent manufacturer, such as Sigma, Tamron, will fit your Pentax as long as it has the Pentax mount (K-A). Be aware, though, that early Pentax lenses, even with the K-A mount, may not have all the functions of present-day lenses, even though they may be optically excellent. Very early Pentax screw-mount lenses are not compatible with your K-x.
